notes to the class of 2023
Dear Class of 2023,
If you remember during the spring, once we all began remote, I quoted J. Willard Marriott on our class Instagram who once said, “Good timber does not grow with ease… the stronger the wind, the stronger the trees.” These words hold immense value during this or any challenging time. Nearly every generation faces difficult and life changing events that help shape who they are and how they live their lives. While what we are enduring together is challenging, we are exploring, learning, and joining in new ways to learn, communicate and remain connected.
My message this year is to encourage that you stay connected to one another and our many resources at the high school. Those valuable resources are rooted in our caring and devoted faculty and the available services we can provide. In both a traditional and virtual school setting, we strive to both support students and help them learn to also advocate for themselves. If you found remote learning challenging, take a moment to reflect on what made it difficult… now use that information to figure out how to improve.
Reach out to your counselor, your Dean, Mrs. Ducko Sweeney, or me about how to help. Everyone can always grow, no matter what the situation.
Mr. Caravano
